symptoms of diabetes after exercise

Physical exercise is to be encouraged and implemented. Physical fitness is of prime substance. It affects the mind and body in a positive way. The body burns up excess stout and helps keep the weight under control. Exercise has its advantages and some of them are as follows; it improves blood circulation, tones the muscles, decrease stress, reduces the risk of heart disease and lowers the level of cholesterol. It benefits diabetics by controlling the blood sugar levels and preventing complications related to the disease called diabetes mellitus. A doctor must be consulted before a person with symptoms of diabetes starts exercise.
In Type 1 diabetes, the pancreas produces small or no insulin what so ever and that depends on their eating patterns. These diabetics need to have some amount of insulin intake on a daily basis in order to survive. Levels of blood glucose are defined by the intake of carbohydrates, activity and the amount of insulin given. The blood glucose level can drop during exercise or after exercise therefore it has to be checked periodically. Type 1 diabetics need to carry some form of carbohydrate snacks along with themselves in case their blood sugar levels drop.
Type 2 diabetes is a condition where the diabetic is insulin resistant, this means that the pancreas still produces insulin but it is ineffective in lowering glucose levels in the body anymore. Insulin resistance is associated with decreased muscle mass and increased stout. The muscle cells utilize insulin in a more effectual manner than stout cells; this causes the muscle to build up and reduces the stout. When this happens then the body uses the insulin in the proper manner thus lowering the blood glucose levels. People who are overweight and physically inactive are at a higher risk as well. The complications can be prevented in Type 2 diabetes provided there is a change in lifestyle. Weight loss and increased physical activity are to be adopted.
Exercise helps controlling Type 2 diabetes in the following ways, improving muscle strength, lowers blood difficulty, increase bone density and strength, improves the body’s use of insulin, improves blood circulation, increases energy level, protects against heart disease and cholesterol, reduces stress and promotes relaxation. The pancreas normally produces insulin when the sugar in the blood is on the higher side especially after meals. The blood sugar level is lowered when the insulin sends signals to the muscles and liver to take in the excess sugar.
When the body requires sugar to exercise for a small span of time it uses glucose that is stored in the muscles and liver. With a continual exercise routine but the body uses glucose 20 times the normal rate. This lowers blood sugar levels.
On the other hand, too much of rigorous exercise has an opposite effect that is there is noteworthy rise in the blood sugar levels. This happens because the body recognizes it as stress and shoots out stress hormones which indicate the need to increase available blood sugar to fuel the muscles. In this case the diabetic may need some insulin. If, by any chance the blood sugar is too high then a person should not do exercise.
Exercise is always excellent under supervision and the go ahead signal of the doctor. Taking a personal interest in one’s self always pays and as the saying goes a healthy body has a healthy mind. So stand tall and delight in a excellent, healthy life and exercise through it all!!
